Meditation Script For A Wintertime Sound Bath

Writer's picture: Hannah BrabbsHannah Brabbs

I believe what you say at the beginning of a sound bath is just as important as the beautiful, healing soundscape that you are about to create.

The kindness of your words has the ability to soothe an anxious heart, calm a busy mind, reassure a new client, and create a blissful space for relaxation.

I have always loved creating self-penned worlds with meditation scripts, and I adore aligning them with Mother Nature and the unfolding of the seasons.

Today, I want to offer you a guide and template to creating your own blissful meditation scripts.

The words that I am sharing with you today are inspired by the dark nights & the promise of new light.

They are tried and tested, loved and cherished.

A prayer from the heart.

A poem from the spirit.

I encourage you also, instead of just taking my words, to create your own. There is nothing more authentic and lovely than being your truest self!

Another point, before we begin - remember to read aloud calmly, slowly, and with gentle inflection - as if you are speaking to your best friend. You have an important job of guiding people into a state of comfort - these words are coming from your soul as a gift! Your voice, after all, is your most powerful sound healing instrument. Don’t hide your accent, too - there is no need to change.

You are enough.

This one is for all you sound healers, yoga teachers, and mindfulness mentors - whether it is your first sound bath or 100th sound session - I hope this script feels like a soft place to land.

Meditation Script

Welcome to your Wintertime Sound Bath, my loves.

As always, it is an honour and a blessing to have you join me today.

This meditation is here to offer you a deep moment of rest and stillness within the healing sounds.

January and the New Year often feel like a time of new beginnings and a flicker of hope.

But these darker, midwinter days are also an invitation to slow down, go inward and rest.

These next moments of meditation are for a deeper listening - not just to the healing sounds, but to how your body feels.

Listen to the whispers of your soul.

Take this time to check in with yourself.

Wintering can sometimes feel hard or lonely - the dark days wrap around us, and they don’t always feel cosy.

Waves of nostalgia can turn into floods of grief. Big gatherings can become overwhelming.

But here, today, in the sanctuary of these healing sounds, I hope you can find a space of comfort, warmth, and calm.

So let’s begin, Sweet Soul.

This is your time.

This is your place.

Allow your body to settle down onto the earth as you find a comfortable position for your sound bath.

Move with kindness, purpose and ease.

Pause

As you close your eyes or soften your gaze, I want to remind you of what is happening in nature all around us right now.

It might appear that nothing is happening, but beneath the surface, life is stirring.

This time of fallow above the cold earth is a reminder to rest - and to know good things are coming your way as the light begins to return.

Pause

Now that you’ve settled into your meditation space, bring your attention to your breath.

Notice the nature of your breath today.

How does your breath feel?

Does it flow with ease and grace?

Or does it feel shallow or even heavy?

However your breath feels today, my love, it’s ok.

Let’s take these next few moments to allow each exhale to extend longer than each inhale.

Inhale deeply, exhale completely - letting the outward breath be slow, steady and calm.

When we slow down the breath in this way, we send signals of safety to the brain - allowing our nervous system to relax.

Pause

Take another round of deep, nourishing breath.

Let the exhale fall away in a long, peaceful release.

As if your exhale could be a gentle stirring breeze across the wintery landscape of your mind.

Pause

Now we are here, my love, settling into a place of stillness.

Bring your attention to the sounds of the crystal bowls.

Allow the soundscape to enter your awareness and fill your atmosphere.

Notice what the sounds of the crystal bowls remind you of.

Where they take you in your mind’s eye.

What feelings they stir in your body.

Pause

Imagine the sounds bringing a sense of stillness and serenity to your being.

Allow the sounds to wash from head to toe - filling your body with calm and giving you permission to rest here a while.

Just as nature is still outside, we need these moments of stillness, rest, and renewal to allow ourselves the chance to heal.

From these intentional moments of stillness, calm and relaxation - we can allow our wishes, dreams and intentions to start to stir beneath the surface.

Pause

Wintering can feel like being in limbo - like you aren’t heading in any certain direction. I want you to know that is perfectly fine.

This time of rest and stillness is needed.

We need this pause to allow what is coming to us to unfold.

Pause

So this is where I am going to leave you, my love.

Surrounded by the stillness and serenity of the sounds.

Bathed in sound.

Held in the calm.

Allowing the sounds of the crystal bowls to guide you where healing is needed, where rest can restore you, and where, eventually, from the depths of this peaceful stillness, goodness will be reborn.

SOUND BATH

Coming back to your body now, Sweet Soul.

Back to your meditation space.

Back to your breath.

Stirring slowly from your much-needed slumber.

Bring gentle movement into your fingers and toes as you deepen your breath.

Take as long as you need to arrive fully back in your meditation space.

Namaste & take good care.
